At the 26th Regular Meeting of the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities – Ghana, hosted by Accra Technical University, university leaders reaffirmed their commitment to advancing digital technology across teaching, learning, research, and assessment as part of the implementation of the VCTU-G 2026–2030 Strategic Plan.

During the meeting, THINK DATA Services, led by Founder and CEO Mrs. Brenda Bijen, delivered a presentation on transforming assessment using digital tools to meet the growing demands of Technical Universities. The session highlighted how technology can support the setting of examination questions, automated marking, and analytics, making assessment more accurate, efficient, and scalable. With student populations increasing rapidly, the tools presented are designed to handle large volumes of assessments while ensuring fairness, consistency, and timely feedback. The presentation was attended by Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, former Director-General of the Ghana Education Service and a former Dean of the International Programmes Office at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology whose is also a consultant to the, THINK DATA Services.

Reflecting on the presentation, Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, Chairman of VCTU-G, emphasised that digital transformation in teaching and assessment is a central pillar of the Strategic Plan. “Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan identifies digital innovation as key to strengthening institutional systems, improving learning outcomes, and preparing our students for the demands of the 21st-century workforce”, he noted.

The Executive Secretary of VCTU-G, Joseph Mensah Oti-Asirifi, highlighted the practical benefits of AI-supported pedagogy and assessment analytics, noting that Technical Universities have already begun migrating from manual and traditional methods of marking, results collation, and assessment to digital platforms, and emphasizing that the VCTU-G 2026–2030 Strategic Plan commits the association to modernizing processes, with digital assessment playing a central role in improving teaching quality, research capacity, and graduate competitiveness.

The delegation from THINK DATA Services also visited the VCTU-G Secretariat as part of its interaction with the Conference.
