Takoradi, Ghana – The Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana (VCTU-G) has officially announced the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 4th Edition of the Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities (ARCTUG), scheduled to take place from May 25–29, 2026, at the Takoradi Technical University (TTU).

The 2026 ARCTUG is under the theme “Advancing TVET for Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development,”. The conference is expected to strengthen research collaboration among technical universities, industry, and policymakers to drive sustainable development.

Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 2026 ARCTUG
The conference will be led by a distinguished team of academics and professionals, chaired by Prof. (Mrs.) Maame Afua Nkrumah, Director for Research, Innovation, and Development at TTU. Prof. Nkrumah is a distinguished researcher a wealth of scholarly articles and books ana a plethora of publications. She is also an active member of numerous prestigious international associations, including the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI), the African Union Commission on Education, and Women in Technical Education and Training (WITTED).

Prof. (Mrs.) Maame Afua Nkrumah (Chairperson, LOC)

Prof. John Awuah Addor is an Associate Professor of Mathematics with research expertise in differential equations, dynamical systems, epidemiology, plastic waste management, and environmental sustainability. He is currently serving as a Deputy Director at the Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Development at TTU.

Rev. Prof. Francis Ayiah-Mensah is a Professor of Statistics and Head of the Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science Department.

Dr. Bertha Danso (Mrs.) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality Management, Takoradi Technical University. She is a caterer and a researcher in research innovative hospitality, foods & nutrition trends, product development, among others

Mr. Ronald Osei Mensah is a lecturer and a researcher with the Faculty of Media Technology and Liberal Studies. He serves on the editorial board of several top-tier journals and is a prolific writer in criminology, penology, and African history.

Mr. Joseph Mensah Oti-Asirifi, is a Deputy Registrar and the Executive Secretary of VCTU-G.

Patience A.N. Boahen (Mrs.) is a Senior Assistant Registrar at the ICT Services Directorate at Takoradi Technical University (TTU).

The LOC is in charge of planning, coordinating, and ensuring the smooth execution of all aspects of the conference, including logistical arrangements, academic programme development, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the event meets its objectives and creates a lasting impact.

Commitment to a High-Impact Conference
Speaking at the 22nd Regular Meeting of VCTU-G, where the theme was formally adopted, Prof. Nkrumah highlighted the critical role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in fostering innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. She emphasized that the LOC is committed to organizing a high-impact conference that will shape the future of technical education and industry partnerships in Ghana.

The Chairman of VCTU-G and Vice-Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, expressed confidence in the LOC, urging them to work diligently in enhancing the visibility of Technical Universities and ensuring a successful event.

The 2026 ARCTUG follows successful conferences hosted by Ho Technical University (2020), Accra Technical University (2022), and Sunyani Technical University (2024).
