Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has blazed a trail of brilliance by clinching the championship title at the 2025 FG-MELSA National Quiz Competition, asserting its intellectual dominance on the national stage. The pulsating contest, organized by the Federation of Ghana Medical Laboratory Students’ Associations (FG-MELSA), brought together 36 universities and health training institutions from across the country in a spectacular display of wit, speed, and scientific precision.
From the very first round, KsTU’s Health Sciences team showed they meant business. With nerves of steel and minds as sharp as scalpels, they swept past formidable contenders to land a spot in the finals, where the atmosphere was electric. Facing off against seasoned rivals, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Takoradi Technical University (TTU), and Narh-Bita College, the KsTU squad delivered a masterclass in medical knowledge, confidently responding to complex questions and keeping their composure under pressure.
In the end, it was a landslide. KsTU sealed their victory with an astounding 76 points, leaving their closest challenger trailing behind at just 45 points. The all-star team of Owusu Mensah Richard, Adoku Emmanuel, and Opoku Amankwah Joseph dazzled the audience and judges alike with their seamless teamwork, academic prowess, and unshakable confidence.
Their competitors, though outpaced, put up a spirited performance. UCC’s trio of Samuel Aidoo, Bervell-Fosu Tutu Shepherd, and Nana Kobina Nketsiah demonstrated poise and resilience. TTU’s squad, made up of Justice Ansah-Eshun, Asante Gideon, and Justina Naa Amorkor Tetteh, fought valiantly, while Narh-Bita College, represented Yankey Derrick, Okrah Joshua, and Muhamadu Tayibatu proved they were no walkovers.
The 2025 edition of the FG-MELSA quiz was more than a competition, but a celebration of brainpower, preparation, and passion.
