Professor Bashiru Imoro Ibn Saeed is a Professor of Statistics with the following qualifications (PhD Management Science and Engineering), MSc (Mathematics), BSc (Mathematics) HND (Statistics).

The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University. As a respected scholar in statistics, Prof. Bashiru specializes in statistical capacity development and healthcare informatics, with a strong focus on statistical modelling and health.  His research portfolio includes key publications such as Modelling Adversarial Risk in Big Data, Adversarial Risk Analysis Structural Equation Model Estimates of Big Data, Modeling of Monthly Meteorological Time Series, Functional Time Series Analysis of Land Surface Temperature, and Impact of Socioeconomic Status and Medical Conditions on Health and Healthcare Utilization among Aging Ghanaians.

Prof. Bashiru’s involvement in development extends to policy influence as well. Serving on the Technical Advisory Committee for Ghana’s Census of Agriculture from 2017 to 2019, he contributed his expertise to both government and international organizations. His work has received national and international recognition, including his appointment as the inaugural Board Chairman of Kpasenkpe Senior High STEM Model School. Panel Member and Chair on the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) team assessing academic programs at universities across Ghana. External Examiner and Supervisor for doctoral candidates in statistics both in Ghana and abroad.
