Our History

The VCTU-G was established to address the unique needs and challenges of Technical Universities in Ghana. It aims to foster collaboration, promote excellence in education, and create a unified voice for the Technical University system in engagement with the Government, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.

Our Vision

To be a leading association that champions excellence, collaboration, and innovation in Technical University education in Ghana and beyond.

Our Mission

To provide strong leadership in Technical University education, advocate for the interests of the Technical University community, and foster partnerships with government, industry, and international institutions for sustainable development and global competitiveness.

Our Aims and Objectives

  1. To provide strong leadership in Technical University education delivery and represent the interest of the Technical University community at all levels of human endeavour in Ghana;
  2.  To promote a mutually beneficial relationship among the Technical Universities, particularly in the areas of teaching, applied research and service to the community;
  3. To serve as a link between the Technical Universities and the Government of Ghana, particularly through its regulatory and funding agencies as the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), the National Accreditation Board (NAB), the National Board for Technician and Professional Examinations (NABPTEX), the Council for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) towards the achievement of current policy objectives of the Ghana Government in Technical University education;
  4. To provide a platform for social events, particularly sporting events among the Technical Universities in promoting educational health, and recreational needs of the Technical University community;
  5. To act as an effective link between the public and the Technical Universities and to foster good relationships with industry and commerce for practical attachment for students, job placement for Technical University graduates and syllabus review;
  6. To establish international linkages with international institutions and industries with the view to making Technical Universities in Ghana acquire an international character;
  7. To share experiences of best practices among Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities for quality Technical University administration and management;
  8. To seek and promote the interest and welfare of members of the VCTU-G
